Mama & Me

In memorie of my Mother, she is missed. I learned much about life from my Mama, she was a open book, each page brought a lesson in survival, making do with very little, her search for love when others would have walked away. Books are written about ladies such as she. I am blessed to have known her and to have loved her.

I had that very same baby walker/buggy! I actually have mine, rather rusty now, sitting by my back door with a plant in it! Great picture.

Can you still read your old blog comments? I cannot access your new blog... and I have no clue what is going on with email notices. Good luck in getting it all figured out.

Glad I stopped by this morning...
this is a great photo of you and your mother. My mother would be 85 today, June 23, 1923. She has been gone 23 years. I sure do miss her.

I'm answering your question over on this blog to have a little more privacy since I don't have your email addy.

I love the song because I feel as though the words are being sung to me and for me. All of my life there has been such a wonderful and loving and genuine person inside of me but no one, even my family, sees any value whatsoever in my existence - including my children.

I think that is why I cling so tightly to my animals and love them deeply. They give me the love I have never had in my life - and I am over 60 years old. Sad, isn't it, that someone (former social worker, good mother, devoted friend) is seen as having no value and treated like she is no more than a bag of useless trash.

Depression, yes, I've had some but now, thankfully, I am beyond that. What I have now is sorrow because my children only come by or speak with me when they want something or want me to do something for them. Other than that - nothing.

Since June I have seen my son once for about 20 minutes on his way home from work (he drives by my home). I'll hear from him again - when they want something from me or need me to babysit the kids. If there is no use for me - well, heck, why bother with me.

So, I relate to the song - very much. I feel like someone who is sane living in an insane world and the only peace I'll ever receive is when I am dead. And, when that happens, no one will notice.
