Silent night

Our Christmas eve was filled with Joy, Love, good food, and Our family.
The tree filled with Candy and cookies...found my Grandchildren all around it taking little bags of goodies to put in there sack.
Cones filled with love for each each one.
And the gift of love for everyone. Arney and my oldest Granddaughter Kayla....she played Christmas eve Santa....

So as Christmas day fades in the night sky becomes dark, all is bright in our hearts. Can't wait till next year!!!!!

I think I have the Christmas spirit.

I have been busy making things for Christmas. These are Christmas cards to my three children. I haven't done these before. We have been very sad, and this has helped me to think of other things. Arney's sister Mandy past away and we have been focusing on the family. As we say good-by to a very special lady...it is good to have Christmas to look forward to. Mandy loved Christmas, she would decorate with such love & Joy. We will miss her forever.

Thanksgiving

Last year at this time I hadn't let myself be known here in blog-land. Six months or longer went by before I really knew why I was here. It was a time when I thought it would be some of my writings, not thinking of any kind of real contact with anyone. If not for a article in a magazine, I probably would have never really looked into this wonderful place that I now so enjoy.
I wish you Love on this very special day.

This is in my kitchen....I keep things that are needed daily....I have a large laundry room slash pantry.

I have always liked this room, and since it is off the kitchen it has been many things over the years. I found that I had supplies here and there and spent alot of time looking for things I needed. So this is the begaining of my craft room. The back door is to the right and this was ones a laundry room...there was a hole in the floor where that lady of the house drained her washer. When I moved in it was a mud room. I am going to paint it. The blue counter top to the left is waiting for a make over. I am still sarching for the right tile. Just a little view of my space. Hugs, Mary

Autumn

I was going through some pictures and found this one. The color was turning some strange color so I made it into this. Note the clock in the background...it was very popular in the 60's early 70's. This is the fall of 1970. I had worked all day making this dress and finding all the stuff that was matchy-matchy for us all. We were all going to a Halloween Party at our friends house.
Autumn has always been good for me. I would lay-away Christmas just after Halloween...Arney never understood that I had to get ready, time would fly.
I was a very busy Mom with my two little boys...little did I know when this picture was taken that Jenny our little girl would join this little family soon.
Happy fall, I have watched almost all the tree's let their golden leaves fall, soon they will all be bare. We have about 3 inches of leaves to rake. We are having a really pretty fall. The news shared that skiing will start on Thanksgiving day on some of our mountains. I can see snow on the mountains all around us. Soon I will be watching the snow fall. My boys are eight and a half months apart...that will make you think.

Baxter

Our little Baxter came to us after the untimely death of his Mother. My son Trevor has his sister Coconut. He was so little and ready to be loved. He loved to suck on his tale and that is still something he enjoys when feeling real cuddly.
Baxter has our two Beagles, Matti Anne and LB to play with when in the mood. Mostly he just wants to do his own thing. He is a lap cat...nothing better than a warm lap.
His Mother passed when a hay stack fell on top of them in a barn. So he is a little Barn Baby, and we love him so much.

On a Cold Autumn Night

I was born under the leaf's of my family vine. Sleeping by day and playing at night. As our family grew larger,we became to big to fit under the large leaves. The days were shorter, and the nights longer.
I woke one evening to find my family gone....where were they, why did they leave me here. I searched everywhere in the patch, they were no where to be found. I started looking down the streets of our town, where had they gone? When the morning sun began to rise, I hid under a pile of leaf's that had fallen from a big old tree. I tried to sleep but could not rest, where was the Pumpkin Patch family? Where had they gone.
So on a cold Autumn night you will see me going house to house searching for the Patch families. To my sad heart all I have found is cut up Pumpkins with fire in their bellies. If you see me, don't be afraid, I am just a lonely Pumpkin from the patch looking, searching for the ones I love.....

sub contractor at home.

This is taking most of my freedom right now. I like it but it doesn't leave me much time for other things. I started this with the company my son works for. I can do it at home and make good money. I don't know how long I will do this but for now it is good Christmas money.

On a sunny afternoon!

My family lived in Lakewood, California. My daughter Jenny had a room of her own that she couldn't sleep in, so Arney and I changed rooms with her. That was the coldest room I have ever known. No matter what time of year it was. Time went by and we moved back in our room and put Jenny on a cot in our room...so we could sleep. Arney was not going for the thought of something strange, it was just how the house was built. So we didn't talk about the room when he was around because he would tell us we were nuts.......It was a sunny afternoon in Southern California and we had just came home from a day at the beach. Arney decided he would take a shower to get the sand off. Then he stood in front of the sink combing his hair when all of a sudden he got a big slap on his necked butt. No one was in the house, we were all in the front yard sitting and talking to our friends from across the street. He looked everywhere in the house trying to figure out who hit him on his behind....no body was there. Besides the bathroom door was closed....HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! He then believed that something was happening, maybe it had something to do with that cold bedroom after all......

Happy Halloween

I have always enjoyed Halloween...I did all kinds of stuff when my kids were little to get the mood set. I made black punch, it was not great to go to school the next day with kinda gray teeth. Now I don't get into it as much, but still enjoy the kids that come to my door. We don't get many little tricker's as we used to...we live on a farm and we are a little spread out. May your day be filled with candy...Hugs, Mary Did you hear that???? It is getting closer!!!

Greetings

Good-morning, I have missed you all. my computer has been acting up. I still will go visit you...it will take awhile.
I have been busy....each year the ladies of our church have a Bazaar...this year I made Victorian Cones. These were made to be hung on doors with little gifts and notes. I made 20, but keep one for myself. I hadn't made these before and now plan to do some for Christmas.
I hope all of you have been well. I can't wait to see all that you have done while I was away. Happy Fall...

Mama Kittie

We moved on the farm with our long time friends Garfield & second in command City Slicker. I am sure Garfield had put the word out that he was king of the farm. The days of summer were flying by, and fall was in the air when in the middle of our drive stood a gray cat that would soon be called Mama Kittie. She would come to the gate like she wanted to visit and then she would be gone. This went on for awhile. She seemed to be very self reliant, but her curiosity brought her to our gate. I spoke to her softly and she would listen, but would run if I came to near. We thought she probably lived somewhere in our barn, although we never saw her there. Soon we saw the reason she was coming so near, she had 4 little reasons for coming to us. As she sat at he gate, we saw the babies, they were waiting for orders from their Mother. She may have lived here for years. As the kittens one by one came to the back door we were already getting food for them. Mama had many little families, we called them barn kitty's. They all came to our back door. We couldn't make pets of them because they were wild, but they gave us much pleasure.
I know we have a lot of cat people in blog-land, just thought this was good to share. It's the little things in live that give us that smile within.

Dressmaker Form

Between the house cleaning...Soaps (All my Children, One Life To Live, General Hospital) my Mother got me hooked on these many years ago, and this little project, my day was really filled. This was a craft that was given to I think 7 of us gals from my craft group. We could do anything we wanted. They also will be sold at our bazaar...wish you could come. I had found this torn apron at a garage sale and paid 25 cents for it just because it was very old and I wanted to give it a home. I love the fabric and like most of us, I had a thought and off we went. I hated to cut it. I painted the wood a off white, waited for it to dry and off I went....thought you might enjoy.

Good-morning

For to many years to count I have made tags for our church bazaar. I was going through one of my craft books and found this picture, and thought it was really special. The fall colors and a peaceful way about it. So I copied it to my computer and added the words and cup. I can't take any credit for the picture.
I will add a hole and ribbon to tie and off we go.
I haven't looked in on anyone for a couple of days.....Arney's new job at Lowe's started yesterday. I think the people there are treating him really good. This is a new world for him. So we inter a new adventure in our life....change is good.
Take care.....

Monday

I will share some of our family news....first tomorrow I get my first SS check....with the good news comes the fact that I feel the pinch of getting older. It's strange how it just happens when you were not looking. You look in the mirror and wonder where you went because this lady isn't you on the inside.
But you then think of all that you have done and will do....so you keep on keeping on.
Arney starts a new career Monday morning. It won't be a big paycheck, but it will be enough. It will give us some travel money when the time comes. He will be in Customer service tools which will be fun for him. You know how men are and their tools.
I wanted to share that the little flat dolls were a hit...I thought the first graders were the best. They were not afraid to just have fun with them. One little girl wanted a pink doll and everything she put on it was pink. She carried it all over the fellowship hall in her little pocket. I am not sure what our next craft will be, but I am thinking Halloween.
I have a sinus thing going...not sick, but not well.

Fall is in the air and some leaves are turning.

For Thursday night

I made these little flat Dolls for the project at my church. The youth will put their own ideas and messages on the doll of their choice. I will have a lot of embellishments for them to chose from. It should be fun. There are 35 and I hope it will be enough??????

Quilted by hand.

This is a work in progress....it is for my sofa on those cold winter days. I am on the last row, and then the plan is to embroidery stuff in each square. The stitching is done in a little over a inch square....I need to get with it, winter will be here soon. Today was filled with working in and on my crafting stuff...I just have to get organized. I start teaching a class in September for the youth in our church...it will be fun. Any idea's would be very welcome. The colors in the quilt are coffee Bean, terracotta, shades of even a Little rose...my sofa is coffee bean. It is a sectional with a chase.
Summer is still very warm here, but I see little signs of fall....maybe it is the cool nights.

I picked a Pepper

I picked this Pepper from my garden this morning....and was looking for a newspaper to put under it for a background. I did find a news paper and it had some history to share. This is the Trolley Car that went between Boise, Nampa & Caldwell, Idaho. Some of the tracks can still be found. It cost a Dime to ride, we could sure use this kind of transportation today. I thought the Pepper was pretty...it will not have a long life....yummmmm!

A little Garden Friend

While enjoying a morning in our garden, Arney almost washed this little Praying Mantis away...it was neet to see him or her taking the water off its face...nature is wonderful. Since then our little friend has become really friendly and so I call it Homer..couldn't help myself. And our peppers are so good.

Birthday continued

Over 30 friends and family celebrated my retirement Birthday....It was wonderful!!!!! I get my first Social Security check in September...hurry! You are seeing 4 of my 6 Grandchildren...Summit, Treyton, Avery and Alexis. They helped blow out the candles...and I let them take a taste of the sweet icing. Kayla also turned 17 this day so we shared the Birthday. It doesn't get much better than this...
