We moved on the farm with our long time friends Garfield & second in command City Slicker. I am sure Garfield had put the word out that he was king of the farm. The days of summer were flying by, and fall was in the air when in the middle of our drive stood a gray cat that would soon be called Mama Kittie. She would come to the gate like she wanted to visit and then she would be gone. This went on for awhile. She seemed to be very self reliant, but her curiosity brought her to our gate. I spoke to her softly and she would listen, but would run if I came to near. We thought she probably lived somewhere in our barn, although we never saw her there. Soon we saw the reason she was coming so near, she had 4 little reasons for coming to us. As she sat at he gate, we saw the babies, they were waiting for orders from their Mother. She may have lived here for years. As the kittens one by one came to the back door we were already getting food for them. Mama had many little families, we called them barn kitty's. They all came to our back door. We couldn't make pets of them because they were wild, but they gave us much pleasure. I know we have a lot of cat people in blog-land, just thought this was good to share. It's the little things in live that give us that smile within.
Between the house cleaning...Soaps (All my Children, One Life To Live, General Hospital) my Mother got me hooked on these many years ago, and this little project, my day was really filled. This was a craft that was given to I think 7 of us gals from my craft group. We could do anything we wanted. They also will be sold at our bazaar...wish you could come. I had found this torn apron at a garage sale and paid 25 cents for it just because it was very old and I wanted to give it a home. I love the fabric and like most of us, I had a thought and off we went. I hated to cut it. I painted the wood a off white, waited for it to dry and off I went....thought you might enjoy.
For to many years to count I have made tags for our church bazaar. I was going through one of my craft books and found this picture, and thought it was really special. The fall colors and a peaceful way about it. So I copied it to my computer and added the words and cup. I can't take any credit for the picture. I will add a hole and ribbon to tie and off we go. I haven't looked in on anyone for a couple of days.....Arney's new job at Lowe's started yesterday. I think the people there are treating him really good. This is a new world for him. So we inter a new adventure in our life....change is good. Take care.....
I will share some of our family news....first tomorrow I get my first SS check....with the good news comes the fact that I feel the pinch of getting older. It's strange how it just happens when you were not looking. You look in the mirror and wonder where you went because this lady isn't you on the inside. But you then think of all that you have done and will do....so you keep on keeping on. Arney starts a new career Monday morning. It won't be a big paycheck, but it will be enough. It will give us some travel money when the time comes. He will be in Customer service tools which will be fun for him. You know how men are and their tools. I wanted to share that the little flat dolls were a hit...I thought the first graders were the best. They were not afraid to just have fun with them. One little girl wanted a pink doll and everything she put on it was pink. She carried it all over the fellowship hall in her little pocket. I am not sure what our next craft will be, but I am thinking Halloween. I have a sinus thing going...not sick, but not well.
I made theselittle flat Dolls for the project at my church. The youth will put their own ideas and messages on the doll of their choice. I will have a lot of embellishments for them to chose from. It should be fun. There are 35 and I hope it will be enough??????
Thank you for coming by....I live in Idaho. A small town that is getting bigger. I love to try new things. I love to write, but haven't shared anything yet...but I will.
